How does a project get started?
After an initial review of the timeline, requirements, and budget for your
project, JespersDesigns.com
will send a proposal that includes a cost
estimate and list of deliverables. Upon acceptance of the proposal,
we will send a signed agreement and begin the Web development process.
What if we are not sure what the requirements are for the
Web site we
envision?
Some clients consult with JespersDesigns.com
to develop a thorough list of
requirements for their project prior to signing a full-scale agreement.
If this is the case, both parties will sign an agreement specifying that
you have agreed to hire us for an initial needs assessment consultation.
What if our business is located in a city outside of your
geographical area?
Many of our clients are located outside the San Francisco Bay Area.
Most communication on a Web project is conducted via Email, telephone and
fax. All mock-ups and deliverables can be readily viewed in Web
format via a browser. Generally, we schedule two to three site visits
during a typical project period.
Do you re-design existing
Web sites?
Yes. Several of our customers have utilized our services to enhance their
online presence and increase their Internet exposure.
I've seen a lot of people get burned
by Web site designers. How do I know you are credible?
The best way we know to prove our credibility is for you to take a look at
the Web sites that we have done and talk to the people we have worked with. You can contact anyone we have ever worked with (see our
Clients)
and ask them what it is like to work with us. Do not be afraid to ask them
tough questions. No project ever goes perfectly. What is important is how
we handle adversity.
I love your work but I need at least
three bids so I can make an informed choice. Who else should I contact?
Not only is this a smart idea, it is something we feel everyone should do. Due to the overwhelming number of Web Designers available, we suggest that
you do a simple search using the major search engines and
review the different services available to you.
How much will my Web site cost?
We generally charge per hour for all the projects we receive. There are dozens of variables that will affect the cost of your site, but
what it all comes down to is time and materials. Materials refer to
professional photographs, copywriting, Java applets, site specific tools
and things of this nature. Time is the amount of work we spent in the long
run to set-up and program your pages. Please contact
us to find out your personal cost estimate.
This kid in high school I know says he knows HTML and he will only
charge me $15/page. Why should I pay more using your service?
Just because you "know HTML" does not mean you can design an
effective site. There is no substitute for years of training and
experience. What you are really paying for is this experience. When you
compare work similar to ours, you will see that our prices are very
competitively priced. If you are serious about your business, so
should you be about your Web site!
How does your payment
plan work?
We will issue an agreement which includes a specific pre-determined
payment schedule. For new clients with projects under $500, the
full balance is due before work commences. Typically, an initial
deposit is approximately $500 for projects ranging between $500-$2,500
and $1,000 for projects ranging above $2,500.
Can I update my Web site myself?
If you think you will be able to do so, we have no problem with it. The one
thing we do not recommend is making major changes to your site yourself. We
have seen many people ruin their sites in the process just to save a few
dollars. Based on this experience we offer a very affordable alternative
Web maintenance contract.
How will my
Web site be hosted and how much does this cost?
This is actually up to your preferences. You may choose your own Web
Hosting provider or you may use our recommended Hosting services. Please
check out our Hosting section, compare and decide for
yourself.
Can
I view my Web site during development?
Yes. We put your Web template in a private directory on our server
during development, where you can view the progress of the site before
it goes live. We can also put the Web site on your server,
whichever you prefer.
Do you help promote the
Web sites
you create?
Yes. We offer site submission services, which includes submission to
several top search engines and directories. Please remember that search
engines and directories are overloaded with inquires everyday, and a
submission may end up taking several months before your site is listed. Please contact us with specific questions.
How long will it take to complete my
Web site?
This varies depending on how many changes there are, how fast you get the
materials we need to us and myriad of other factors.
JespersDesigns.com
prides itself in having one of the fastest turnaround times in the
industry. As a rule of thumb, plan on anywhere between one to
two weeks for a standard size (5-10
pages) Web site.
Please see our Production Process
for further details.
What other design services can you provide to supplement our Web site?
We offer a full range of graphic design services for both
online and offline marketing campaigns:
Do you
register domain names for your customers? Yes, we can help you register a domain
name and get you signed up for less than $10/year. Please see our
Hosting section for further details.
